GEICO. Allstate. State Farm. What you pay depends a lot more on where you live and your driving record than who you use.

Stay away from online insurance companies unless they’re top rate companies and have a local office. In the event you have a problem and need quick answers, a local office will provide them to you while an online company can keep you on hold for weeks or longer.
Just purchasing a new car will mean mandatory full coverage insurance anyway, unless you paid cash for the car. So “cheap” really isn’t an issue you should be so concerned about – your quest is compounded by you being a young driver, so “cheap” just isn’t going to happen.
If you paid cash and still want cheap “state required only” insurance, you’re a fool. If something happens and all you have is liability, you’ll lose everything.
State Farm has the best rates I’ve found.
